Completing a chapter of life is never an easy task. However, through difficult times, great people find beautiful qualities about themselves and what they are capable of. UGK’s final album, UGK 4 Life, is an example of this beauty. Having been released over a year after Pimp C’s unfortunate passing, it’s easy to assume that the album would be bogged down by a sense of tragedy. After weeks of deliberation, the 2007 Rap List is finally upon us. 25 hip-hop critics were asked to pick up to 10 of their favorite ‘07 releases. Points were then awarded to the nominated albums in descending order. As you might expect, the overwhelming favorites were Graduation and American Gangster, with 22 votes apiece. And, no, Curtis didn’t make anyone’s list.

Apparently, the boys from Memphis were hoping to capitalize on the “Int’l Players Anthem” buzz for another hit. Ehnnn! It ain’t happening. This was supposedly Pimp C’s final recording, so it deserves its own post.
